<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce motor noises generated during self-sustaining driving of an engine. <P>SOLUTION: In a hybrid vehicle, during traveling in a state where a travel shift lever is set to a drive position or a reverse position and during self-sustaining driving of the engine, switching control of an inverter is carried out so that a motor MG2 may output torque based on a torque command Tm2*, while shutdown of an inverter for the motor MG1 is carried out (S130, S150).
