PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of preventing useless consumption of electric power and heating a portion being brought into pressure-contact with a sheet to be conveyed of a heating roller efficiently. SOLUTION: The fixing device 130 includes: the heating roller 131 rotating in the direction for bringing the sheet 90 to be conveyed into pressure-contact with a side part N of an outer peripheral face 131a and conveying the sheet 90 upward from below; and a heat insulating cover 160 for covering portions other than the side part N of the outer peripheral face 131a of the heating roller 131. An inner face 162a of the heat insulating cover 160 is curved downward below the side part N from above the side part N to surround the outer peripheral face 131a of the heating roller 131, and a distance L between the inner face 162a of the heat insulating cover 160 and the outer peripheral face 131a of the heating roller 131 is gradually reduced.
