<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of suppressing noise while reducing the weight and reducing the cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An electric blower 47 is operated with a suction port 64 in a synthetic resin cover 61 closed by an opening/closing part 62. A check valve 69 is operated with the difference in pressure between the space 66 covering approximately the whole electric blower 47 and the suction side of the electric blower 47, and air within the space 66 is sucked into the electric blower 47 to depress the space 66. When the space 66 is in the depressed state, the check valve 69 prevents air from flowing into the space 66 side from the suction side of the electric blower 47. In this way, noise accompanying the drive of the electric blower 47 can be suppressed by the depressed space 66 while reducing the weight and cost. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
