METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAPPING AND DE-MAPPING IN OPTICAL TRANSPORT NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for mapping and de-mapping in an optical transport network.

SOLUTION: The mapping method includes steps of: constructing an optical channel data tributary unit (ODTU) according to the amount M of time slots of a high order optical channel payload unit (HO OPU) to be occupied by a low order optical channel data unit (LO ODU); mapping the LO ODU to the payload area of the ODTU in an M-byte unit; encapsulating overhead information to the payload area of the ODTU; and multiplexing the ODTU where the LO ODTU has been mapped and the overhead information is encapsulated, to the HO OPU. Accordingly, there is provided a highly-efficient and universal method for mapping the LO ODU to the HO OPU.
