<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming apparatus that controls the occurrence of residual images after transfer resulting from an additive in a developer. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 includes: a photoreceptor 22, a developing roll 32 that develops a latent image on the photoreceptor 22; a transfer roll 35 that causes a developed toner image to be transferred onto an intermediate transfer belt 14; a brush roll 50 that has a function for collecting residual toner on the surface of the photoreceptor 22 after transfer; and a power feeding part 54 and a control unit 18 that control amplitude ΔV of AC voltage to be applied to the brush roll 50. When the percentage of carrier C per unit area of the surface of the developing roll 32 is large, the control unit 18 increases the amplitude ΔV. Thus, the additive K remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor 22 is removed, and the occurrence of the residual images resulting from the additive K is controlled. A discharge product is prevented from being produced by deciding a set range of the amplitude ΔV, thereby wear of the photoreceptor 22 is suppressed and long-term use thereof is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
