<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica container large in size, having high dimensional precision and high durability and using silica as a main structural component, and a method of producing the silica container produced using inexpensive relatively low grade silica powder as a main raw material with low input energy at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the silica container using silica as the main structural component and having revolution symmetry includes, at least, a step of forming the silica base body having the rotational symmetry using silica as the main structural component; a step of forming a silica dry gel layer by gelating silica sol to turn to a silica wet gel layer on the surface of the inside of the silica base body and drying the silica wet gel layer; and a step of forming a silica glass layer by firing the silica dry gel layer, wherein two or more silica glass layers are formed on the inner surface of the silica base body by repeating the step of forming the silica dry gel layer at least twice or more times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
