PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric machine having a simple configuration and preventing a cooling medium of a stator housing chamber from leaking to a rotor housing chamber. SOLUTION: The rotating electric machine 10 includes: a stator 11, a freely rotatable rotor 12 arranged in the inner circumferential side of a stator 11 via an air gap, and a housing 13 for housing the stator 11 and the rotor 12. A partitioning wall member 17 is provided in the air gap S, for dividing the stator housing chamber 20 for housing the stator 11 from the rotor housing chamber 30 for housing the rotor 12. An inlet port 131a for introducing the cooling medium to the inside of the housing from the outside, and an outlet portion 131b for guiding the cooling medium to the outside from the inside of the housing are provided in the stator housing chamber 20. At least one rib 175 extending in an axial direction is provided at a position facing the slot 112 on the outer circumferential surface of the partitioning wall member 17.
