PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition giving a vulcanized rubber suitable for production, for example, of a pneumatic tire excellent in wear resistance, breaking strength, rolling resistance, wet skid resistance and the like. SOLUTION: A rubber composition includes: a rubber component (A) comprising a diene rubber containing ≥20 mass% of a modified styrene-butadiene copolymer (a1) and ≥5 mass% of a modified conjugated diene polymer (b1); and a filler (B), wherein the modified conjugated diene polymer (b1) is a polymer having ≥80% of cis-1, 4-bond content and obtained by modifying its active end with an alkoxysilane compound, and the filler (B) contains, based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component (A), at least one of a carbon black (b1) in an amount of 2-100 pts.mass and a silica (b2) in an amount of 30-100 pts.mass.
