<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occurrence of luminance unevenness and luminescent color unevenness during emission. <P>SOLUTION: In this light emitting device 100, a plurality of light emitting pixels Pa each of which is provided with an individual EL layer each partitioned by a barrier plate are arranged in the X-axis direction. Thereby, convection in a recessed part in each light emitting pixel Pa becomes relatively small, and variations in the layer thickness of the EL layer can be reduced. Furthermore, the light emitting pixel Pa has a shape gradually slenderized from the width W1 of a portion crossing an opening 10 toward the width W2 in both ends of its rod shape. Therefore, in comparison with a track-shaped light emitting pixel used as a comparison example, the area of the recessed part becomes small and the thicker layer of the EL layer can be obtained, when the same amount of a liquid body is applied.
