<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus suppressing toner accumulation on the surface of an individual electrode with time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a toner carrier which has a plurality of electrodes; a first voltage applying means which applies a voltage to the plurality of electrodes so as to generate a hopping electric field on the toner carrier; a hole forming member in which a plurality of through-holes are formed and which faces the toner carrier; a plurality of individual electrodes which are provided to at least one of the hole circumference or hole inner wall of the toner carrier facing surface of the hole forming member, while being made to correspond to each of the plurality of through-holes; a second voltage applying means which applies the voltage to the individual electrodes so as to generate a flying electric field for at least flying toner from the toner carrier to the individual electrode side; and an opposite electrode which faces the toner carrier across the hole forming member and is for forming an electric field attracting the toner. In the image forming apparatus, an electric line of force is formed by which the toner is attracted to the electrodes of the toner carrier to which a cloud high-voltage is applied from the individual electrodes when the flying electric field is not formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
