<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for suppressing the occurrence of end fogging resulting from changing of the surface potential of a region with which a recording medium of a width narrower than a recording medium of the greatest width does not come into contact, of a region after transfer in the rotation axis direction of a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the photoreceptor 21, an electrifying device 22, a latent image forming device 23, a developing device 24, a transfer device 25 for transferring the developer image to the recording medium 9 supplied so as to pass between the photoreceptor and a transfer member 25a in a state where voltage for transfer of electrostatic polarity and reverse polarity of the developer is applied to the transfer member coming into contact with the photoreceptor, a width detecting means 5 for detecting the width W during supply of the recording medium, and a static eliminator 6 that, when the width of the recording medium detected by the width detecting means is narrower than the greatest width, eliminates static in regions E2 and E3 corresponding to a paper non-passing section of the recording medium of the narrow width relatively more weakly than in a region E1 corresponding to a paper passing section of the recording medium, of the region after transfer in the rotation axis direction of the photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
