<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the kinematic viscosity of a grease in a drive transmission unit having a plurality of gears to which the grease is applied by heating the drive transmission unit, without increasing the size and weight of an apparatus, in the image forming apparatus transmitting power from a drive source to each rotating member through the drive transmission unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a temperature sensor 71 detecting the temperature of a fixing roller 41; a duct 5 including an air intake 51 formed in the vicinity of the fixing roller 41 and an exhaust port 52 discharging air to the outside of the apparatus; and a fan 7 blowing the air from the air intake 51 to the exhaust port 52. A heating area 53 where the air comes into direct or indirect contact with the drive transmission unit 6, to perform heat exchange is provided between the air intake 51 and the exhaust port 52 in the duct 5, the fan 7 is controlled to be turned on and off so that the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 71 is within a predetermined range, and the drive transmission unit 6 is heated by the air heated by the fixing roller 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
