<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with the tapping or theft of a password required when logging in a business system, and to improve confidentiality in user authentication. <P>SOLUTION: When a client server 20 makes an issuance request of a two-dimensional bar code containing a one-time password (OTP) for authenticating a terminal accessible to a service supply server 10 to an authentication server 30 which creates the OTP, the authentication server 30 encodes the generated OTP with a secret key shared with a cellular phone 50 and returns the two-dimensional bar code containing the secret key to the client terminal 20. Next, when the client terminal 20 displays the returned two-dimensional bar code on a screen, the cellular phone 50 picks up and interprets the two-dimensional bar code and decodes it with the secret key to acquire the OTP.
