<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase productivity in printing, by properly correcting a skew of printing paper. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This printer has a primary paper feeding part 12 for taking out and carrying one by one of the printing paper W placed on a paper feeding tray, a secondary paper feeding part 14 for carrying the printing paper W carried by the primary paper feeding part 12 to a printing part 30 in the predetermined timing, a sound sensor 17 arranged in the vicinity of a carrying passage of the printing paper W between the primary paper feeding part 12 and the secondary paper feeding part 14 and detecting a butting sound generated when the printing paper W carried by the primary paper feeding part 12 butts against the secondary paper feeding part 14, and a control part 80 for controlling the primary paper feeding part 12 based on the butting sound detected by the sound sensor 17.
