The kit has an abrasive disk (1) made of foam and polishing a dental prosthesis. A tool (10) is provided with teeth (11) that form grooves on a periphery of the disk to soften the disk. The tool is provided with a sleeve (12). The teeth are provided at an end of the sleeve, and are arranged between positioning cleats (13). The positioning cleats are spaced with a distance higher than thickness of the disk so as to axially displace the disk between the positioning cleats. An independent claim is also included for a method for conforming an abrasive disk of a kit.
