摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured light emitting device capable of emitting electrons from an electron emitting source and achieving high luminance by increasing the current of the electrons to be radiated on a phosphor while amplifying a current, even if a low voltage is applied on an anode electrode. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting device includes the electron emitting source 5, a gate electrode 4, the anode electrode 7, the phosphor 6, and an amplifying electrode layer 12. The gate electrode 4 has a function to apply an electric field on the electron emitting source 5, for causing it to emit electrons. The anode electrode 7 is disposed so as to face the electron emitting source 5 with a prescribed distance. The phosphor 6 is formed on the surface on the electron emitting source 5 side in the anode electrode 7 and excited by the electrons field-emitted from the electron emitting source 5 to emit light. The amplifying electrode layer 12 is disposed between the electron emitting source 5 and the phosphor 6, irradiated with the electrons emitted from the electron emitting source 5, and its secondary-emission coefficient exceeds 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
