<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of a possibility that an indication object as a pickup object may not be appropriately detected. <P>SOLUTION: A touch position detection device 1 includes a light sensor-containing LCD 11 which informs the user, in accordance with a result of analyzing an image picked up by a light sensor 12, that it is difficult to identify where the indication object is located, due to the influence of external light such as sunlight.
