<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition using a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment and having superior heat resistance, and to provide a color filter having a high contrast by using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The coloring composition contains a colorant [A], a photoinitiator [B], an organic solvent [C], a transparent resin [D] and a transparent resin precursor [E], wherein the colorant [A] contains a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment, and the transparent resin precursor [E] contains N-substituted maleimide of ≥50 wt.%, preferably cyclohexylmaleimide, based on the whole amount of the transparent resin precursor [E].
