<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve dust collecting capability for dust contained in a gas while suppressing increase in the body dimension and consumption of electricity. <P>SOLUTION: In the dust collector, in a opposing section to a discharge line 60 of a discharge electrode in electrode units 62, 64, 66 composing a dust collecting electrode, there is formed a circular arcuately curved recessed part 68 in a manner making the discharge line 60 as the curvature center. As a result, a distance becomes constant from the discharge line 60 to an arbitrary part in the recessed part 68, forming an electrostatic space in which distribution of an electric field substantially becomes uniform, between the discharge line 60 and the recessed part 68.
