In a plate cell having a two-part casing t1, t2 and forming part of a stack battery, the aperture in the lower part of the casing through which the projection n on the depolarizer d of an adjacent cell projects is provided with at least one ridge r which firmly contacts the conductive foil l1 on the zinc electrode z. The aperture in the lower part of the casing may be rounded off and a second conductive foil l2 placed between adjacent cells and a third conductive foil l3 may be placed in the aperture. The foils may be stuck together and to the casing by conductive lacquer or adhesive.
