PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope objective, with a socket-type frame for position correction that is axially movable, is applicable in connection with various cover glasses and/or various immersion liquids and/or at various work temperatures, can be substituted for all compression springs used in microscope objectives and other objectives, and can avoid the disadvantages in using individual springs. SOLUTION: In the microscope objective, helical springs 36 which are uniformly distributed along the circumference and the spring 36 acting in the axial direction are plugged onto pins 39 in the axial direction, attached to a first ring and are fixed by engaging the pins 39 in bore holes 40 of a second ring 38. The bore holes 40 are at least sufficiently deep, to ensure the required spring path. Both rings 37 and 38, with the helical springs 36 plugged onto the pins 39 therebetween, form spring retainers 41 and 42, which ensure a movement of the parts without play and/or in a spring-like manner.
