<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an allergen deactivating composition, having excellent effect in deactivating an allergen and to provide a simple method for deactivating an allergen. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The allergen deactivating composition contains an oxidoreductase (A). In the allergen deactivating composition, the oxidoreductase (A) is preferably laccase or peroxidase. Also, in the allergen deactivating composition, an aromatic hydroxy compound (B) which is prepared by substituting at least one hydrogen atom in an aromatic hydrocarbon nucleus with a hydroxy group is preferably further contained.
