PURPOSE: A device and a method for estimating a position of a partial discharge of a gas insulated device are provided to accurately estimate the position of the partial discharge inside a gas insulated device. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of sensors(130,140) senses an electromagnetic wave due to a partial discharge inside a gas insulated device and outputs a sensing signal in proportion to the strength of the electromagnetic wave. A position estimating unit(150) estimates the position or size of the partial discharge based on the size of the sensing signal and the distance between the sensing units.
