PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the content of the adherent moisture of mold powder from being increased more than that during the manufacture immediately before the use even when the outside air is high-temperature and highly humid. SOLUTION: In the method for packaging the mold powder, the mold powder 3 after the manufacture and before the shipping is placed in an aluminum bag 11 directly, and packaged, or the mold powder is firstly placed in a polyethylene bag 12, and then, placed in the aluminum bag 11 and packaged. When the mold powder 3 is placed in the aluminum bag 11 directly, and then, packaged, desiccant 13 is sealed in the aluminum bag 11. When the mold powder 3 is placed in the polyethylene bag 12, and then, placed in the aluminum bag 11, and packaged, the desiccant 13 is sealed in the polyethylene bag 12, and then, the mold powder is sealed in the aluminum bag 11, or the desiccant 13 is sealed between the polyethylene bag 12 with the mold powder 3 being sealed therein and the aluminum bag 11. Even in a case of steel which is easily subjected to defects caused by hydrogen, the content of the adherent moisture of the mold powder can be reduced, and any exterior defect can be effectively prevented.
