<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which controls the elevation of temperature at the regeneration time while preventing the deterioration in strength of the wall surface of a partition and which is capable of controlling the increase of a pressure drop by collection of particulates. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure has the porous partition to form divisions of a plurality of cells penetrating from end face through the other end face to form the passage of a fluid. The value of ratio of the surface area of the partition is 1.5-5.0 to the surface area of the partition when the surface of the partition is planar, the arithmetic average surface roughness of the surface of the partition is 1.0-20.0μm, and the average interval of the local summit of mountain of the surface of the partition is 10-140μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
