PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support the creation of a complicate query including constraint while following the intuitive method of a well-known technology. SOLUTION: When a path try is displayed, and an output node and a restriction node are designated, a retrieval device 100 determines a common prefix from the absolute path of each node, and determines the branch point of a query. Then, in generating a plurality of queries from the output node and the restriction node, the retrieval device 100 generates the path try expanded to the necessary minimum on the basis of the branch point, and displays it so that the difference of each query can be understood by a user, and makes the user select the optimal query.
