PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assist apparatus for enabling parking even if an obstacle is present in a parking partition. SOLUTION: When width of the parking space for a vehicle 7 is made narrow due to the presence of the obstacle 20, a side monitor camera 11 detects obstacle information such as a position and a size, etc., of the obstacle 20. Obstacle information detected by the side monitor camera 11 is transmitted to obstacle information acquiring means 14. Travelling locus altering means 5 allows a second travelling locus L<SB>2</SB>of a reference parking sequence L stored in parking locus storage means 4 to be altered into an altered second travelling locus L<SB>2</SB>', based on the obstacle information acquired by the obstacle information acquiring means 14 and parking partition information stored in parking partition information storage means 15, so that the vehicle 7 can move into a space between one side wall SW and the obstacle 20.
