PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for organic electroluminescent elements that has few defects, such as dark spots and luminescent spots, and ensures improved drive voltage and drive lifetime by a wet film-forming method. SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing the composition for organic electroluminescent elements that are disposed between the positive and negative electrodes of the organic electroluminescent elements and are used for film-forming of an organic layer formed by the wet film-forming method by dissolving an organic electroluminescent element material into a solvent, the organic electroluminescent element material is dissolved into the solvent under agitation and/or heating, the dissolution of the organic electroluminescent element material is visually confirmed, and the obtained solution is agitated and/or heated further for three minutes or more for solid-liquid separation.
