PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone type dust collector removing dust in air by centrifugal separation, having both high dust collection capacity and low pressure loss. SOLUTION: The dust collector 1 includes a vane train 4 at one end in the axial direction of a cylinder 2, a discharge port 5 at the other end, and a guide plate 7 between the vane train 4 and the discharge port 5. When the air containing dust flows into the dust collector 1, the vane train 4 turns the air flow and causes a swirling flow. By the centrifugal force caused by the swirling flow, dust is separated outwardly, dropped and collected. The guide plate 7 prevents direct flow of the air flow having passed through the vain train 4 toward the discharge port 5, and guides the air flow further outwardly from the vicinity of the axis. This causes a further outward swirling flow to promote the separation of the dust. Extreme narrowing of an air duct is not needed, thus causing little increase in the pressure loss.
