PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for electrophoretic display device which can prevent lowering of display quality due to light illumination and voltage fluctuation. SOLUTION: The driving method for electrophoretic display device includes a power-off step of putting a pixel electrode and a common electrode into a high impedance state after an image display step of displaying an image at a display section, and a discharging step of transiting the potential of at least the common electrode to a ground potential side.
