<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment configured to leave traces of dropping without using a large-scale device or an expensive device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a digital camera 10, a body unit 11 to which a functional component such as a photographic lens 20 is attached is covered with a front case 12 and a back case 13 from front and from back. On a top surface of a camera body 18, an external decorative plate 23 is attached to notched parts 16c and 17c, which are formed by partially notching top plates of the front case 12 and the back case 13, after the body unit 11 is covered with the front case 12 and the back case 13. One end of a positional deviation detecting member 26 is fixed to the external decorative plate 23, and an engaging section 27 to be engaged with an engaging hole 28 provided on the body unit 11 is formed at the other end of the positional deviation detecting member 26.
