RECORDING MEDIUM CARTRIDGE, DRIVE UNIT, AND SHUTTER LOCKING/RELEASING METHOD

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrong opening of a shutter provided at a recording medium cartridge. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Locking/unlocking of a shutter mechanism is controlled so that the shutter mechanism can be locked/unlocked only when power is supplied to a driving element of a locking/unlocking part that locks/unlocks the shutter mechanism. The possibility of wrongly opening the shutter can be made lower as compared with the case of the conventional locking/unlocking mechanism that uses e.g. a mechanical mechanism and magnetic force.
