<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PVA-based block copolymer excellent in higher dispersion stability and abrasion and scratch resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The PVA-based block copolymer is expressed by general formula (1). In the general formula (1), A represents a PVA-based block; B represents a block comprising a hydrophobic segment B' and a hydrophilic segment B'' except A, wherein they are arranged from A in order of B' and B'' and the block B is a gradient polymer; X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>, X<SP>3</SP>and X<SP>4</SP>represent each H, a halogen atom, an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl (wherein these organic groups comprise 1-20C and may be either one of straight chain, branched or cyclic groups), X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>, X<SP>3</SP>and X<SP>4</SP>may be mutually different; m1 represents an integer of 1-5; m2 represents an integer of 0-4; m1+m2 represents an integer of 1-5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
