PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start focusing processing at a proper time.

SOLUTION: The focusing mechanism control method includes: a detection step of detecting that composition of an image acquired by an image acquisition part is completed; and a focusing processing start step of starting focusing processing to a photographing subject when the completion of composition is detected in the detection step. According to this, by starting the focusing processing after detecting the completion of composition, the focusing processing can be prevented from being executed at a time not intended by a photographer.
