PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification device capable of surely identifying an identified object regardless of positional relationship of a target and flare, in an object identification device used in guidance of an anti-aircraft guided flying object. SOLUTION: Vector information by difference in signal intensities among picture elements is calculated on each of intermediate infrared ray image data 101 and far infrared ray image data 102. The vector information obtained on each image data is compared with a model pattern 10a prepared in advance, and a region of high evaluation value reflecting its similarity, is extracted as a target existence region.
