<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a machine tool capable of efficiently removing swarf or coolant remaining on a workpiece after cutting in machine tool equipment without increasing cost, and a method for removing the swarf or the like using the machine tool. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The machine tool A includes at least a spindle 1 on which a cutting tool is exchangeably mounted and a fixing tool 2 for a workpiece conveyance pallet 10. It further includes an exchangeable workpiece inverting holder 30 on the spindle 1. In addition, a through-hole 11 into which the workpiece inverting holder 30 can be inserted is formed on the workpiece conveyance pallet 10. After completion of the cutting, the workpiece inverting holder 30 is mounted on the spindle 1, the holder 30 is inserted into the through-hole 11 of the workpiece conveyance pallet 10, and thereafter the spindle 1 is operated to invert the workpiece 20 together with the workpiece conveyance pallet 10.
