<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser building-up method capable of further suppressing defects caused in a built-up layer of a valve seat of a cylinder head. <P>SOLUTION: In the laser building-up method, the built-up layer is formed in a laser irradiation position P by irradiating it with a laser beam 20 while copper alloy powder 18 is supplied to the valve seat 16 of the cylinder head 12 and, at the same time, the laser irradiation position P is annularly moved along the valve seat 16, for building-up. At the start of the building-up, while the supplied amount S of the copper alloy powder 18 is gradually increased, the output W of the laser beam 20 is increased according to the supplied amount S of the copper alloy powder 18 to form a building-up start end part 50. Then, the supplied amount S of the copper alloy powder 18 and the output W of the laser beam 20 are kept constant to form a regular part 51 of the building-up. Before the building-up start end part 50 while the output W of the laser beam 20 is kept constant, the supplied amount S of the copper alloy powder 18 is reduced to a prescribed amount Sb, so that a building-up terminal end part 52 is formed and overlapped with the building-up start end part 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
