<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving an electrohoretic display device, adjusting the line width in a display device simplex to improve representation ability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: According to this method of driving an electrohoretic display device, first or second potential is input to a pixel electrode, a pulse wave in which periodically repeats the first potential and the second potential is input to a common electrode, and when the potential of the common electrode is the potential displaying a specific gray scale, the input of the pulse wave is stopped, thereby displaying an image in which the contour of an image element formed in a specific gray scale is expanded on a display unit.
