PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, the method improving manufacturing yield. SOLUTION: The method is provided with; a first mother board-forming process in which a first area A1 and a second area A2 parallel to the first area A1 are formed on a first base board; a second mother board-forming process in which a third area A3 and a removable area A4 parallel to the third area A3 are formed on a second base board; a sealing member-arranging process in which a sealing member SL having an aperture part is arranged so as to surround a first display part DYP1; a process in which a first mother board 110M and a second mother board 120M are arranged to face each other so that the first area A1 and the third area A3 may face each other and the second area A2 and the removable area A4 may face each other; and a process in which the removable area A4 is removed and the first area A1, the second area A2 and the third area A3 are cut out. The first mother board-forming process is provided with a process in which base layers L1 are formed on a cutting line CLA, the layers L1 which become the bases of end parts SLE extending to the second area A2 across the cutting line CLA from the first area A1.
