<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control engine torque according to the atmospheric pressure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An engine is controlled according to a torque demand amount set based on an accelerator opening. The torque demand amount is corrected according to an intake amount detected by an airflow meter. The torque demand amount is corrected to become larger as the atmospheric pressure becomes lower. The torque demand amount is corrected to be low until learning of the correction amount of the torque demand amount determined according to the intake amount is completed.
