<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR cooler leveling the flow rate of exhaust gas without changing the shape of an inlet header of the EGR cooler and having less gas resistance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The EGR cooler includes: a core part 1 comprising a plurality of plate tubes 4 for making exhaust gas flow laminated inside a hollow shell 6 with both ends penetrated by end plates 5 and fixed thereto, and exchanging heat between the exhaust gas and cooling water flowing around the plate tubes 4; a tubular inlet header 2 with one end attached to a gas flow upstream side of the core part 1 and supplying the exhaust gas to the core part 1; and a tubular outlet header 3 with one end attached to a gas flow downstream end of the core part 1 and delivering the exhaust gas from the core part 1. A straightening vane 2c is installed inside the inlet header 2 for partitioning a passage along the flow of the exhaust gas and leveling the flow rate of the exhaust gas on both sides thereof.
