<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer composition having further improved resoiling preventing ability compared to conventional compositions when used for a detergent, and to provide a method for producing the composition. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polymer composition contains a polymer obtained by polymerizing a polyoxyalkylene compound and an acid group-containing unsaturated monomer in the presence of a polymerization initiator, wherein the polyoxyalkylene compound includes (1) a group having a carbon-carbon double bond, (2) a polyalkyleneglycol chain and (3) one of groups expressed by general formulae (1-1) to (1-5), and the use amount of a solvent in the polymerization is less than 10 parts with respect to 100 parts of the polyoxyalkylene compound.
