<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact joystick controller, producing no limitation to flexibility in the operating direction of an operational body, without time and labor to obtain a desired kick down characteristic. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The joystick controller includes: a case; the operational body having a shaft which is rotatable around a rotation center with inclination and supported by the case; a first spring return mechanism disposed on the shaft rotation center; a second spring return mechanism disposed on the shaft rotation center and the first spring return mechanism; and a detector for detecting a displacement of the shaft. By the second spring return mechanism disposed on the upper part of the shaft, the desired kick down characteristic can be obtained without time and labor for adjustment and without limitation to the operating direction of the operational body.
