The method involves determining a center position of non-visible holes (10) of a panel by a magneto-optical visualization process. An excitation wave generating unit and a measurement unit (1) are arranged near an external surface of another panel (9), where the generation unit generates excitation waves to produce the exiting magnetic field in an observation zone (8) of the latter panel. The measurement unit is used to measure the magnetic field in the observation zone of the latter panel. The latter panel is drilled from an external face along an axis passing through the determined center. The magneto-optical visualization process is an eddy current imaging process. An independent claim is also included for a device for counter-drilling a non-visible hole on a complex structure.
