PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating or selecting an endothelin expression inhibitor. SOLUTION: The method for evaluating or selecting the endothelin expression inhibitor includes the following processes (1) to (5): (1) a process of making a test substance in contact with epidermal cells; (2) a process of exposing the epidermal cells to 5 to 150μM hydrogen peroxide; (3) a process of measuring the endothelin expression amount in the epidermal cells; (4) a process of comparing the endothelin expression amount calculated in the process (3) with the endothelin expression amount in a control group in which the epidermal cells made contacted with the test substance are not exposed to the hydrogen peroxide; and (5) based on the result of the process (4), a process in which the test substance reducing the endothelin expression amount is evaluated or selected as the endothelin expression inhibitor.
