PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching device, a postprocessing device having the punching device and an image forming system connected with the postprocessing device, capable of reducing a variation in a punching position for forming a cutout, by registering paper so as not to dislocate a position in both the carrying direction and the width direction, with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This punching device has a punching means for punching the paper by a punch, a registering means for registering the paper in the paper width direction orthogonal to the paper carrying direction, a butting member arranged on the upstream side in the paper carrying direction to the punch and inserted into and extracted from a carrying passage of the paper, and a control means for controlling punching. The control means controls so as to punch the paper by the punching means, by pressing and carrying the rear end of the paper up to a predetermined position by inserting the butting member into the carrying passage of the paper, after retreating a registering member from a paper registering position after finishing registering operation, by registering the paper by moving to the paper registering position so as to sandwich the paper, while retreating the butting member from the carrying passage of the paper.
