PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a photographer from performing an erroneous operation owing to touching an operation button of a multidirectional operation switch in gripping the imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: A multidirectional operation button keytop 19 is secured to a post-like operation portion 27a of a multidirectional operation switch 27. The multidirectional operation button keytop 19 is inserted into an opening portion of a multidirectional operation button stage 18 attached to the opening portion of a rear cover 11a. The periphery of the multidirectional operation button keytop 19 is sealed with a rubber seal member 30. A body case 11 is provided with a finger placing member 31 and a rear grip portion 12 across the multidirectional operation button keytop 19. The projection portion of the finger placing member 31 and the maximum projection portion of the rear grip portion 12 protrude above the multidirectional operation button keytop 19. With this configuration, the risk of the multidirectional operation button to be wrongly operated by the holding finger is reduced when an imaging apparatus such as a digital camera is gripped.
