<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device for a gas engine capable of changing an ignition time point within a wide regulation area, in particular, capable of advancing remarkably the time point with respect to TDC, and to provide a gas engine equipped with the ignition device, and a method of operating the gas engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ignition device includes an injection device for injecting an ignition gas jet based on a combustion gas mixture, into a precombustion chamber of a cylinder of the gas engine, an ignition gas jet controller for starting and stopping gas supply to the injection device, and a pressure control system for controlling gas pressure of the combustion gas mixture, in the ignition device for the gas engine, the gas engine equipped with the ignition device, and the method of operating the gas engine. The pressure control system is set to regulate the gas pressure in response to an engine load of the gas engine, and in response to the ignition time point of the cylinder of the gas engine.
