<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is free from electrical noise, such as spike current, image quality degradation, transfer failure, etc. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a transfer belt 40 to which an image is transferred; a belt drive roller 41 extending the transfer belt 40; a secondary transfer roller 61 disposed opposite the belt drive roller 41 via the transfer belt 40; a contact member disposed on the shaft of the secondary transfer roller 61; and a contacted member disposed on the shaft of the belt drive roller 41.
