PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element capable of improving the efficiency of light extraction, and to provide a display apparatus, display device and liquid crystal display device employing the EL element. SOLUTION: The EL element 10 has a luminous layer 2 interposed between a positive electrode 3 and a negative electrode 4 arranged on one face side of a translucent substrate 1A, and the light released from the luminous layer 2 is emitted through the translucent substrate 1A. Micro lens sheet 5 in which a plurality of fine unit lenses 5b are arranged on a sheet-like base material 5a is laminated on the other face on the opposite side to one face of the translucent substrate 1A, and light diffusion particulates are contained in the fine unit lenses 5b of the micro lens sheet 5.
